Truth That Matters

"What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?" - Jesus Christ

FEEDBACK

Feedback is welcome. Here are some guidelines before you contact me. Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in my ignoring your feedback.

  1. If you are hurt or offended by the content of this website, please read this first.
  2. If you believe in the Bible but feel that this website misrepresents it, please read this first.
  3. Any criticism is welcome as long as you justify it by debate.
  4. If you send in disparaging comments, I just conclude that you're resorting to them because you are into blind faith and therefore cannot defend your beliefs; so I ignore rude or mocking comments.
  5. I also ignore vague, brief attempts to refute what I have written. If you think an article is biased, don't bother telling me unless you're willing to elaborate on the details.
  6. I welcome sincere, polite debate. It is the appropriate way to arrive at the truth or convince others of the truth.
  7. I am not able to entertain any requests of a commercial or personal nature.

General debating guidelines/terms

  1. Please familiarize yourself with The Main Message. That will be at the background in any debate.
  2. Our debate will honor TRUTH. Avoid statements like "Your beliefs are narrow, childish, etc". We believe things because they are true, not because they are "broad" or "adult". Truth matters.
  3. Avoid using terms implying that I'm wrong (example: "Your misconceptions") without first proving that I'm wrong.
  4. Avoid personal attacks. We will debate on issues, not people. If you doubt my sincerity or knowledge, don't tell; show.
  5. We will debate only one point at a time. This is to avoid very long emails and to avoid points getting lost.
  6. Before writing to me with an objection or question, first see if it is already addressed at the website. If yes, respond to it. It won't take you long to see what I say about a particular topic because the links are all there on just a few pages listed on the top navigation bar.
  7. Each question/argument raised needs to be acknowledged in the next mail.
  8. Replies should be given within a week. If you are busy or unwell, do send me a short note.
  9. The word "Christian/Christianity" will be used only in its original meaning (which you will find in Acts 11:26 of the Bible), and not the meanings which it has acquired today. I make this distinction because I only endorse the Bible. For example, the Pope is not Christian because the concept of "Pope" or church hierarchy does not exist in the Bible or the teachings of Jesus Christ. When you want to discuss a topic in "Christianity", find out what the Bible really says about it.
  10. You may refer to outside links only for specific points, not general ones.

    For example:

You may say: "There's this point you've made in your Noah's Flood article, and I think this particular point is refuted in this particular paragraph of that article on such and such webpage" OR "Such and such article makes such and such argument to prove that the Bible is false, and your website has not dealt with this argument, so what do you have to say about it?"

You may NOT say: "Go check this site. It refutes the Bible."

Debating guidelines specific to where you're coming from

Atheists/Agnostics: Please note that I do not endorse religion in general, or even everything that is called Christian. I only endorse the Bible. So by citing "religion" in general, you will waste your time and mine. If you have ethical objections to the Bible or are saying that the existence of evil disproves the existence of a loving, powerful, God, please refer to the linked articles (scroll down to the bottom) for debating terms.

Hindus/Buddhists/Jain: I need you to first define Hinduism/Buddhism/Jainism authoritatively - state clearly on what basis you use to differentiate between authentic and corrupted Hinduism (i.e. a misrepresentation of Hinduism). Also define all metaphysical terms you use. When you make statements, check whether they are self-evident. If they are not self-evident, you should only make such statements when you provide justification/proof for them.

Catholics/Orthodox: Please begin by responding to what I've written on Bible Authority.

Muslims: Please begin by clarifying your position on the following:-

If you want to defend Islam before me:-
  1. When did Allah create the universe?
  2. Did He take 6 literal (24 hour) days or are the "days" to be interpreted as long periods of time?
  3. When were the fossils formed?
  4. Also clarify your position on the issues raised here.

If you want to prove that Biblical Christianity is false:-

  1. Did Allah deliver the (original) Bible?
  2. Did He promise to preserve it?
  3. Did the Bible get corrupted? Which parts? When? Where? By whom? To what extent? How have you come to know?
  4. Also clarify your position on the issues raised here.
