The first Pharaoh of Egypt was King Menes. The name “Menes” is similar to Mizraim, the person mentioned in the Bible as the ancestor of the Egyptians. Even today, Egyptians call their country “Misr”. Egypt is famous for its huge pyramids. What most people do not know is that the pyramids were not just huge, but built to precision.
The following information is from Christopher Dunn, The Giza Power Plant: Technologies of Ancient Egypt, Rochester VT: Bear and Co, 1998 [cited in Donald Chittick, The Puzzle of Ancient Man] regarding the Great Pyramid of Giza (see the image to the right).
Dunn summarizes his observations by saying: “The bald fact is that the Great Pyramid – by any standard old or new – is the largest and most accurately constructed building in the world”
With today’s technology, it is not possible to reconstruct it. Imagine! It’s one of the oldest buildings that exists! Don’t you think there must be something wrong about the whole idea that the ancients were ape like brutes that slowly progressed up to our level today?!
Two other interesting observations:
The expertise used in managing water resources and city planning in this civilization is comparable to that used in modern times.
“The Indus Valley Civilization was known for its innovative use of metals like copper, lead, tin, gold and silver. Harappan sites indicate that in addition to making 98.5% pure copper, alloys of copper with tin and arsenic were also produced.” (Dr Pradip, Ghadar Jari Hai, Vol 2, Issue 2, 2008, p19)
Tiahuanaco is an ancient Pre-Incan city at a height of nearly 4 km above sea level (pilots flying this high are required to wear oxygen masks). What’s so great about this city? Donald Chittick reports on his visit to the site:
“[The ruins contain] large rectangular blocks, accurately cut, and placed into position with precision. Many of the larger stones had been accurately polished and were as smooth as window glass…Thus, crude or “primitive” methods of moving and placing the stones, such as dragging them, could not have been used. In fact, many of the larger stones were so smoothly polished that ones tilted to an angle of thirty or forty degrees above horizontal were used unofficially as “slides” by visiting children…the stones often had designs of startlingly high quality carved on them.” [Donald Chittick, The Puzzle of Ancient Man]
At a nearby site called Sacsahuaman (see image), huge stones (weighing 50-100 tons), carved into various shapes are placed on top of each other in a tightly fitting mosaic. According to Rene Noorbergen, author of “Secrets of the Lost Races: New Discoveries of Advanced Technology in Ancient Civilizations”, these stones were carved and then hauled from several miles away.
The pre-Inca people also had an advanced irrigation system.
“According to team member Charles Ortloff, a General Electric engineer, hydraulic simulations showed that the Chimu channels were completely modern in design. This civilization is known for drawings made on the ground. The Nazca desert is characterized by a flat terrain with dry soil. The soil is sticky due to the early morning dew and gypsum. Moreover, there is hardly any wind or rain. This ensures that drawings made on the ground will remain for a very long time. What’s so great about the drawings on the Nazca desert? A closer look is needed to understand it. Some markings (furrows 10-30 cm deep) are straight lines. Other markings are large geometric figures and outlines of various animals. Some of these lines are eight kilometers (five miles) long, and really straight. One writer observes:
“The task of transferring to a desert the figure of a bird, or any other animal, is one that cannot be carried out by a mere enthusiast. It demands complicated geometrical methods which alone can explain the extraordinary regularity and symmetry of the drawings as well as the proper proportions among their elements. It is quite certain that the figures of Nazca were not the result of a simple visual ad-hoc method.” – Las Lineas Nazca, Lima, Peru, Librerias ABC S.A., 1978, p.10
One of the more well known drawings is that of a certain species of a tiny spider. The drawing includes details that can be seen only with a microscope. So the Nazcas definitely had surveying technology, and may have even known something about magnification using lenses and mirrors.
Needless to say, these findings are a mystery to those indoctrinated by evolution theory. In his book “Chariots of the Gods?” Erich Von Daniken speculates that these long lines may have marked runways for alien spaceships. Actually the opposite is true. It is now known that the Nazcas worshipped the sun. Their method of disposing the dead was as follows: the corpse was placed in a hot air balloon (yes, they did it back then!!) and allowed to rise. Westerly directed winds pushed the balloon over the Pacific Ocean, where it would be lost.
The Mayan observatory at Chichen Itza (the image shows the remains) is reminiscent of a modern one. The Mayans evidently used astronomical measurements to keep time. Graham Hancock describes the Mayan calendar:
“In modern Western society we still make use of a solar calendar which was introduced in Europe in 1582 and is based on the best scientific knowledge then available: the famous Gregorian calendar…Pope Gregory XIII’s reform substituted a finer and more accurate calculation: 365.2425 days. Thanks to scientific advances since 1582 we now know that the exact length of the solar year is 365.2422 days…Strangely enough, though its origins are wrapped in the mists of antiquity far deeper than the sixteenth century, the Mayan calendar achieved even greater accuracy [than Gregory]. It calculated the solar year at 365.2420 days, a minus error of only 0.0002 of a day.” (quoted by Donald Chittick in “The Puzzle of Ancient Man”)
James Ussher was an Englishman who used the Bible and other historical information to arrive at 4004 BC as the date of creation. Even though the Mayans ultimately came to believe that time is cyclical, they nevertheless calibrated their calendar with creation (it was year number zero for them). The Mayan date for creation is only 56 years later than Usher’s estimate. So the most accurate time keepers claimed that the earth was made in 4000 BC, long before evolution theory and the needed eons of time were speculated about!
As you might expect, the Mayans used the wheel long before Europeans brought them to the Americas.
Brilliant as the Mayans were, they had a crazy religion. According to Silvanus Morley who wrote “The Ancient Maya” they worshiped the host of heaven (like people do even today) and even carried out human sacrifices. Priests tore out the hearts of human beings placed on a sacrificial altar. The goal was to cut the heart out so quickly that it would be still beating as the priest held it out for eagles to carry off and eat.
Amazing isn’t it? Brilliance and depravity/foolishness, hand in hand, just as the Bible describes in Romans 1:21 onwards.
The sudden appearance of highly advanced civilizations all around the world in 2500-2000 BC does not fit into evolutionary theory but makes perfect sense in the light of the Bible. God made humans perfect, and when they rebelled at Babel, He forced them to scatter by confounding their languages. The scattering tribes who already possessed the know-how only had to implement it in the places they decided to settle in. They did not have to develop things from scratch.
All of these cultures were steeped in idolatry, and so they decayed instead of advancing further, as one would expect from Romans 1 in the Bible. The reversal of this decay occurred only after 1500 AD in Europe due to people such as Galileo, Newton, Copernicus, Faraday, Maxwell, Kelvin, and so on, all of whom were heavily influenced by the Bible.
